Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers (when used alone, Ranitidine is the primary active ingredient for these conditions).
Ondansetron blocks serotonin receptors (5-HT3) in the gastrointestinal tract and chemoreceptor trigger zone in the brain, thus preventing nausea and vomiting signals.
