Rosuvastatin

This is a statin medication that works by lowering the levels of low-density lipoprotein (ldl) cholesterol, often referred to as “bad” cholesterol, in the blood.

Vitamin D3

This is a fat-soluble vitamin that helps your body absorb calcium and phosphorus, essential for healthy bones and teeth.

High Cholesterol: To lower high cholesterol levels in adults with high cholesterol, including those at risk of heart disease.

Vitamin D Deficiency: To treat vitamin D deficiency, which can cause bone problems such as rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults.

0 Rosuvastatin: It works by blocking the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which is involved in the production of cholesterol in the liver. By inhibiting this enzyme, rosuvastatin reduces the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver and lowers LDL cholesterol levels in the blood.1 Vitamin D3: When exposed to sunlight, the skin produces vitamin D3. It then travels to the liver and kidneys, where it is converted into its active form, calcitriol. Calcitriol helps your body absorb calcium from food and use it to strengthen bones and teeth.

The dosage of rosuvastatin and vitamin D3 will vary depending on your individual needs and medical condition.

It is crucial to follow your doctor's instructions and take the medication exactly as prescribed. Do not adjust the dosage or stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor.

Rosuvastatin is usually taken once a day, preferably in the evening.

Vitamin D3 may be taken daily, or as directed by your doctor.

Serious Side Effects (rare): Liver problems, muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis), allergic reactions.

Note: If you experience any unusual symptoms or side effects, consult your doctor immediately.

Common Side Effects: Headache, muscle aches, nausea, indigestion, constipation, diarrhoea.

Alcohol Consumption

Consult your doctor about the safe consumption of alcohol while taking this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience these side effects.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Rosuvastatin is not recommended during pregnancy. It is unknown if rosuvastatin passes into breast milk. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of rosuvastatin and vitamin D3 in children have not been established.

Kidney impairment may affect how your body processes this medication. Talk to your doctor if you have any kidney problems.
