Chlortalidone increases the excretion of sodium and water from the kidneys, reducing blood volume and blood pressure. Ramipril inhibits the production of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. The combination provides a synergistic effect, enhancing blood pressure control.

Alcohol can increase the risk of low blood pressure and other side effects. Limit or avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication.
Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how this medication affects you. Dizziness and lightheadedness are possible side effects.
This combination is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or are planning to breastfeed.

Kidney function should be monitored regularly, especially in patients with pre-existing kidney disease. The dosage may need to be adjusted.
