Rabeprazole

Rabeprazole is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).

Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), including erosive esophagitis and heartburn.

Treatment of ZollingerEllison syndrome.

Prevention of stress ulcers in critically ill patients.

Rabonik 40mg Tab (Rabeprazole) works by blocking the production of stomach acid. It does this by inhibiting the enzyme called the hydrogen potassium adenosine triphosphatase (H+/K+-ATPase) pump, which is responsible for the final step in acid secretion.

Store at room temperature, away from light and moisture.

The dosage of rabeprazole varies depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient's needs.

It is typically taken once daily, before a meal.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may worsen the side effects of rabeprazole, especially heartburn and nausea. It's best to avoid alcohol while taking this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Rabeprazole may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Rabeprazole may be harmful to an unborn baby. It's important to talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking rabeprazole during pregnancy. It's also unclear if rabeprazole passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor about whether it's safe to breastfeed while taking this medication.



Children

Rabeprazole is not typically used in children.



Kidney

People with kidney problems may need to take a lower dose of rabeprazole.



Liver

People with liver problems may need to take a lower dose of rabeprazole.
