Aztreonam

Is the active ingredient.

Treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of aerobic gramnegative bacteria.

Often used for pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and intraabdominal infections.

Qualitreo 1gm Injection (Aztreonam) is a beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This action disrupts the synthesis of peptidoglycan, a crucial component of the bacterial cell wall, leading to bacterial cell lysis and death. It is specifically effective against gram-negative bacteria.

Store at room temperature (20°C-25°C/68°F-77°F), away from direct sunlight and moisture. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.

Dosage depends on the type and severity of infection, as well as the patient's renal function.

Dosage and frequency are determined by a healthcare professional.

Intravenous (IV) administration is common; intramuscular administration is less common.

Alcohol Consumption

While Driving or operating Machinery

Aztreonam generally does not impair alertness but individuals should observe for any side effects that may affect their ability to drive or operate machinery and should not do so if they experience drowsiness, dizziness or other such side effects.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only occur if the benefits outweigh the potential risks. Consult your doctor.



Children

Dosage adjustments are necessary for children; use should be guided by a pediatrician.



Kidney

Dose adjustment is often needed for patients with impaired kidney function. Renal function should be monitored closely.



Liver

Aztreonam is mostly eliminated by the kidneys; hepatic impairment does not typically necessitate significant dose adjustments, but monitoring is advised.
