Treatment of complicated skin and skin structure infections
Treatment of pneumonia (including hospitalacquired pneumonia)
Treatment of certain types of bacteremia (bloodstream infections)
Cefepime inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). Tazobactam inhibits beta-lactamases, enzymes produced by bacteria that inactivate many beta-lactam antibiotics, thus extending cefepime's effectiveness against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria.
Store at controlled room temperature 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Protect from light and moisture. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.
Dosage is determined by the physician based on the severity of infection, patient's weight, and renal function.
The medication is typically administered intravenously or intramuscularly.
