A biguanide that improves insulin sensitivity and reduces glucose production by the liver.
An alpha-glucosidase inhibitor that slows down the absorption of carbohydrates from the gut.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, especially those who have not achieved adequate glycemic control with metformin alone or with diet and exercise.
Management of hyperglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes who require a combination therapy to achieve adequate blood sugar control.
This triple combination works synergistically to lower blood glucose levels. Glimepiride increases insulin secretion, metformin enhances insulin sensitivity and reduces hepatic glucose production, and voglibose inhibits carbohydrate digestion and absorption, leading to a more controlled postprandial (after-meal) glucose rise.
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiry date.

Start with a low dose and gradually increase as directed by the doctor. This is usually done by adjusting the Metformin dosage then the Glimepiride and Voglibose dosage as required.
Take with food to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.
Gastrointestinal disturbances: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain (more common with metformin).
Lactic acidosis (a rare but serious complication with metformin, especially in patients with kidney problems).
Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Symptoms include sweating, trembling, dizziness, confusion, rapid heartbeat.
Weight gain (possibly with glimepiride).
Allergic reactions: Rash, itching, swelling.
Avoid excessive alcohol consumption as it can increase the risk of lactic acidosis with metformin and interact with glimepiride, potentially causing hypoglycemia.
May cause hypoglycemia leading to dizziness or impairment of cognitive functions, avoid if such symptoms occur. If hypoglycemia occurs, do not drive or operate machinery until symptoms subside.
Generally not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consult a doctor immediately if pregnancy is suspected or planned.
Not recommended for use in children.
Metformin should be used with caution or avoided in patients with kidney disease due to the risk of lactic acidosis. Dosage adjustments may be necessary.
