Q Pril 5mg Tab (Quinapril) is an ACE inhibitor. It works by blocking the action of an enzyme called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). ACE converts angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a powerful vasoconstrictor (raises blood pressure). By inhibiting ACE, quinapril reduces the production of angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) and decreased blood pressure. This also reduces the workload on the heart, benefiting patients with heart failure.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Quinapril is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking quinapril if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

The safety and efficacy of quinapril in children have not been established.



Kidney

Quinapril can affect kidney function, especially in patients with pre-existing kidney disease. Kidney function should be monitored regularly.



Liver

Quinapril is primarily metabolized by the kidneys, not the liver. However, patients with severe liver disease may require dosage adjustments.
