Phenazopyridine

Hydrochloride is the active ingredient in medications containing phenazopyridine.

Note: Phenazopyridine only treats the symptoms, not the underlying infection. Antibiotics are necessary to treat the infection itself.

Relief of pain, burning, and irritation in the urinary tract associated with urinary tract infections (UTIs).

Pyridium 200mg Tab (Phenazopyridine) is a urinary analgesic (pain reliever). It works by acting on the nerve endings in the urinary tract to reduce pain and discomfort.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions carefully.

Typical doses range from 100-200 mg every 12 hours, as needed.

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Do not use for longer than 2 days without consulting a doctor.

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Consult your doctor before using phenazopyridine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Use in children is generally not recommended unless specifically directed by a doctor.



Kidney

Caution is advised in patients with kidney disease. Dosage adjustment may be necessary.
