Boric Acid

A weak antiseptic and antifungal agent.

Chlorpheniramine Maleate

An antihistamine that helps relieve allergy symptoms.

Phenylmercuric Nitrate

A preservative, often used in ophthalmic solutions (eye drops). note: phenylmercuric nitrate is rarely used in modern formulations due to toxicity concerns. its presence in this formulation requires careful consideration and potentially alternative options should be explored.

Treatment of minor eye infections (when prescribed by a doctor and only if Phenylmercuric Nitrate is deemed acceptable by the prescribing physician)

Relief of allergic conjunctivitis (inflammation of the conjunctiva, the membrane lining the eyelid and eye) (when prescribed by a doctor and only if Phenylmercuric Nitrate is deemed acceptable by the prescribing physician)

Boric acid provides antiseptic action against some bacteria and fungi. Chlorpheniramine maleate blocks histamine receptors, reducing allergic inflammation and symptoms like itching and redness. Phenylmercuric nitrate (if present) acts as a preservative, though its use is increasingly uncommon due to toxicity concerns. Sodium chloride maintains the osmotic balance of the solution.

Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused portion after the expiry date.

Typically, eye drops are administered one or two drops in the affected eye(s) as directed.

Burning or stinging sensation in the eyes.

Temporary blurred vision.

Eye irritation or redness.

Allergic reactions (rare).

Alcohol Consumption

No specific interaction, but excessive alcohol use may impact overall health.



While Driving or operating Machinery

May cause temporary blurred vision, avoid driving or operating machinery until vision clears.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Consult your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Boric acid and other components may be absorbed systemically.



Children

Use only as directed by a pediatrician. The use of medications containing phenylmercuric nitrate is generally not recommended for children.



Kidney

Patients with impaired kidney function should exercise caution, as boric acid is primarily excreted by the kidneys. Consult your doctor.



Liver

There is no significant interaction with liver function, however, it is important to inform your physician of any liver conditions.
