Penicillin G Potassium

Is the potassium salt of penicillin g, a beta-lactam antibiotic.

Treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including pneumonia, meningitis, syphilis, endocarditis, and various skin and soft tissue infections.

Prophylaxis against bacterial infections in highrisk surgical procedures.

Pentids 800 Tab (Penicillin G Potassium) inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), leading to bacterial cell lysis and death. It is bactericidal against susceptible bacteria.

Store Penicillin G Potassium at controlled room temperature (20°C-25°C/68°F-77°F). Protect from light and moisture. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.

Dosage is determined by the physician based on the severity of infection, patient's weight, and renal function.

Penicillin G Potassium is typically administered intravenously or intramuscularly. Oral formulations are generally less common and may have reduced bioavailability.
