Benzathine Penicillin

G is the active ingredient. it's a type of penicillin antibiotic.

Treatment of syphilis (all stages except neurosyphilis)

Treatment of pharyngitis, tonsillitis and scarlet fever caused by susceptible strains of Streptococcus pyogenes

Treatment of yaws, pinta and early infectious syphilis

Prophylaxis of rheumatic fever recurrence.

Penidure La 6 Inj (Benzathine Penicillin) G works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, ultimately leading to bacterial cell death. It's bacteriocidal against susceptible bacteria.

Store at controlled room temperature 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.

Dosage and frequency depend entirely on the specific infection being treated and the patient's weight and health status. It's administered via intramuscular injection only. Never take orally.

Alcohol Consumption

The interaction between benzathine penicillin and alcohol is generally considered mild. However, excessive alcohol consumption could interfere with overall health and potentially impact treatment efficacy. It's advisable to moderate alcohol intake while on this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Benzathine penicillin usually does not impair alertness or cognitive function. However, if any side effects, such as dizziness or nausea, occur, avoid driving or operating machinery.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only be considered if the benefits outweigh the potential risks. Consult your doctor before using benzathine penicillin if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.



Children

Dosage should be adjusted according to the child's weight and the specific infection being treated. Always follow your doctor's instructions.



Kidney

Caution should be exercised in patients with impaired kidney function. Dosage adjustments may be necessary.



Liver
