Benzathine Penicillin

G is the active ingredient. it's a long-acting form of penicillin.

Treatment of syphilis (all stages except neurosyphilis)

Treatment of yaws

Treatment of pinta

Treatment of early stages of relapsing fever (caused by Borrelia recurrentis)

Prophylaxis of rheumatic fever recurrence (in conjunction with other appropriate measures)

Treatment of streptococcal pharyngitis and tonsillitis (when penicillin V is not tolerated or feasible)

Penidure La 12 Inj (Benzathine Penicillin) G inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This leads to bacterial cell lysis and death. It's bacteriocidal against susceptible bacteria.

Store at room temperature (20-25°C). Protect from light and moisture. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.

Dosage is determined by the physician based on the patient's condition, age, and weight.

It's usually administered via intramuscular injection. Do not take orally.

Allergic reactions (rash, itching, hives, angioedema, anaphylaxis)

Interstitial nephritis (rare)

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid excessive alcohol consumption as it may worsen side effects or interact with other medications the patient is taking.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Drowsiness or dizziness may occur. Avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only occur if the benefits outweigh the potential risks. Consult your physician.



Children

Dosage adjustments are necessary. Consult your physician.



Kidney

Renal impairment may necessitate dose adjustment. Renal function should be monitored.



Liver

Hepatic impairment does not typically require dose adjustment, but monitoring may be advised depending on the severity of the impairment.
