Paracetamol

Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, is the active ingredient in many over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription medications.It is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer).Paracetamol is available in various forms, including tablets, capsules, granules, liquid suspensions, and suppositories.It may be combined with other medications, such as cough suppressants, decongestants, and antihistamines.

Relief of mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, muscle aches, back pain, and toothaches.

Reduction of fever.

Treatment of pain associated with conditions like the common cold, flu, and arthritis.

Paraldim 120mg Syp (Paracetamol) works by reducing the production of prostaglandins, chemicals in the body that cause pain and fever. It is not fully understood how paracetamol relieves pain, but it is thought to act on the central nervous system.

The usual adult dose is 500mg to 1000mg every 4 to 6 hours, as needed.

Do not exceed the maximum daily dosage, which is typically 3000mg.

Take paracetamol with a full glass of water.

Liquid suspensions should be shaken well before administration.

Rare but serious side effects include: Liver damage, allergic reactions, and low blood cell counts.

Alcohol Consumption

Consuming alcohol while taking paracetamol can increase the risk of liver damage. Limit or avoid alcohol intake while using this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Paracetamol may cause drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience this side effect.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Talk to your doctor before taking paracetamol if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It may not be safe for your baby.



Children

Do not give paracetamol to children under the age of 2 years without consulting a doctor. Follow the recommended dosage for children carefully.



Kidney

Paracetamol is generally safe for people with kidney problems. However, if you have severe kidney disease, talk to your doctor before using it.



Liver

Paracetamol can be harmful to the liver, especially if taken in large doses or for prolonged periods. Avoid using paracetamol if you have liver problems or have had liver damage in the past.
