Oxybutynin

Oxybutynin is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs known as anticholinergics.It works by blocking the action of a certain natural substance (acetylcholine) in the body.

Oxyspas 2.5 Tab (Oxybutynin) works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder, which helps to reduce bladder spasms and increase bladder capacity. This helps to control urinary incontinence and reduce the frequency of urination.

Store oxybutynin at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep it in its original container.

The dosage of oxybutynin will vary depending on the patient's age, condition, and response to treatment.

It is typically taken by mouth, once or twice a day.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of side effects, such as drowsiness and dizziness. Avoid alcohol while taking oxybutynin.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Oxybutynin can cause drowsiness and blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Oxybutynin is not recommended for use during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. It is also not recommended for use while breastfeeding, as it can pass into breast milk.



Children

Oxybutynin is not recommended for children under 5 years old.



Kidney

Kidney disease may affect how oxybutynin is eliminated from the body. Your doctor may need to adjust your dosage if you have kidney problems.



Liver

Liver disease may also affect how oxybutynin is eliminated from the body. Your doctor may need to adjust your dosage if you have liver problems.
