Oxcarbazepine

Treatment of partial seizures with or without secondary generalization in adults and children aged 4 years and older.

Treatment of generalized tonicclonic seizures in adults.

Oxylep 450mg Tablet (Oxcarbazepine) is an antiepileptic drug that works by blocking the movement of sodium ions into nerve cells. This action helps to prevent the spread of electrical activity in the brain that can cause seizures.

Store oxcarbazepine at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F), in a tightly closed container.

The dosage of oxcarbazepine is individualized and depends on the patient's age, weight, and condition.

It is usually taken once or twice a day, with or without food.

Oxcarbazepine is available in tablet and oral suspension form.

It's crucial to follow your doctor's instructions carefully regarding dosage and frequency.

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Oxcarbazepine may harm an unborn baby. Discuss potential risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. It is also excreted in breast milk and may affect a breastfeeding infant. Consult your doctor about the risks and benefits of breastfeeding while taking this medication.



Children

Oxcarbazepine is not approved for use in children younger than 4 years old.
