Cilnidipine

A calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels by blocking calcium from entering them.

High blood pressure (hypertension)

This combination is typically prescribed when other treatments haven't been effective or when multiple medications are needed to control blood pressure.

This combination medication works by targeting three different mechanisms to lower blood pressure: 1. Olmesartan Medoxomil: Blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels, leading to relaxation of blood vessels and decreased blood pressure. 2. Cilnidipine: Blocks the entry of calcium into blood vessel muscles, causing them to relax and widen, lowering blood pressure. 3. Chlorthalidone: Increases the amount of urine produced by the kidneys, leading to removal of excess water and salt from the body, which reduces blood pressure.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and response to treatment.

This medication is usually taken once daily, with or without food.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Do not take more or less of this medication than prescribed.

Common side effects include headache, dizziness, fatigue, cough, low blood pressure, and swelling in the ankles and feet.

Serious side effects are rare, but may include: - Severe allergic reactions - Kidney problems - Liver problems - Low blood potassium

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can worsen the effects of this medication, including dizziness and low blood pressure. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

This medication can cause dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. It is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Discuss alternative options with your doctor.



Children

This medication is not recommended for use in children.



Kidney

This medication can affect kidney function. Your doctor may need to monitor your kidney function while taking this medication.



Liver

This medication can affect liver function. Your doctor may need to monitor your liver function while taking this medication.
