Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD): To improve liver function and reduce the risk of complications.
Okamet 250mg Tab (Metformin) works by lowering glucose production in the liver, improving insulin sensitivity in the body, and slowing down the absorption of sugar from the intestines.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the bottle.
The dosage of metformin varies depending on the individual's condition and response to treatment.
It is typically taken by mouth, with or without food.

Lactic acidosis: A rare but serious condition that can occur in people with kidney or liver problems, or those who drink excessive alcohol
Vitamin B12 deficiency: Metformin can interfere with the absorption of vitamin B12
Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia): This is more common in people with type 1 diabetes or who are taking insulin
Gastrointestinal problems: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain
Skin reactions: Rash, itching, hives
Drinking alcohol while taking metformin can increase the risk of lactic acidosis. It is best to limit alcohol consumption.
