Dorzolamide Hydrochloride

This is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that works by reducing the production of fluid in the eye.

Timolol Maleate

This is a beta-blocker that lowers the pressure within the eye by decreasing the production of fluid.

Treatment of openangle glaucoma (a condition that causes damage to the optic nerve due to high pressure inside the eye).

Treatment of ocular hypertension (high pressure inside the eye without damage to the optic nerve).

Ocudor T Drops 5ml (Dorzolamide Hydrochloride + Timolol Maleate) work together to reduce the pressure inside the eye by decreasing the production of fluid. Dorzolamide blocks the action of an enzyme called carbonic anhydrase, which is involved in fluid production. Timolol blocks the action of certain receptors in the eye that are also involved in fluid production. By working together, these two medications help to lower eye pressure and protect the optic nerve from damage.

Store the medication in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Do not freeze the medication.

The usual dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) two to three times daily.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Wash your hands before using the medication.

Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a pouch.

Place one drop of medication in the pouch.

Close your eye gently for 1-2 minutes.

Avoid touching the tip of the bottle to your eye or any other surface.

Burning or stinging in the eye

Nausea

Dizziness

Alcohol Consumption

The combination of dorzolamide hydrochloride and timolol maleate may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Alcohol can worsen these effects. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

This medication may cause blurred vision or dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks. It is not known whether this medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of using this medication while breastfeeding.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of this medication in children have not been established.



Kidney

This medication may affect kidney function. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function while you are taking this medication.



Liver

This medication may affect liver function. Your doctor will monitor your liver function while you are taking this medication.
