Domperidone blocks dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone and the gastrointestinal tract, thereby stimulating gastric motility and reducing nausea and vomiting. Pantoprazole inhibits the enzyme H+/K+-ATPase, which is responsible for the final step in gastric acid secretion, resulting in significant and long-lasting reduction in stomach acid production.
