Management of obesity in overweight adults, in conjunction with a reducedcalorie diet.

Weight loss and maintenance of weight loss after weight reduction in overweight or obese patients.

Obezita 120mg Tab (Orlistat) is a lipase inhibitor. It works by preventing the absorption of dietary fats in the gut. Specifically, it blocks the action of pancreatic and gastric lipases, enzymes responsible for breaking down fats into absorbable fatty acids. This leads to a decrease in the amount of fat absorbed from the diet, resulting in weight loss.

Store at room temperature (below 25°C). Protect from moisture.

The usual dose is 120 mg three times daily, with each main meal containing fat.

Orlistat should be taken with or shortly after meals containing fat.

Gastrointestinal effects are common and include oily spotting, fatty/oily stools, fecal urgency, flatulence with discharge, increased bowel movements, abdominal pain, and oily stool.

Alcohol Consumption

While there is no direct interaction documented between orlistat and alcohol, excessive alcohol consumption can interfere with weight loss goals.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Orlistat does not typically impair alertness, but patients experiencing side effects such as dizziness or abdominal discomfort should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Orlistat is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before taking Orlistat if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or plan to become pregnant.



Children

Orlistat is not typically recommended for use in children. Consult your doctor.



Kidney

Orlistat is generally safe for patients with normal kidney function, but caution should be exercised in those with severe kidney disease. Consult with your doctor.



Liver

Patients with severe liver impairment should avoid using Orlistat.
