Rabeprazole

Rabeprazole is the active ingredient in medications like Aciphex, Pariet, and generic equivalents.It belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and heartburn

Erosive esophagitis (damage to the esophagus caused by stomach acid)

ZollingerEllison syndrome (a rare condition where the stomach produces too much acid)

Prevention of ulcers in patients taking certain medications like NSAIDs (nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs)

Noxrab 20mg Capsule (Rabeprazole) works by blocking the enzyme that produces stomach acid (hydrogen potassium ATPase or H+/K+ ATPase). This reduces the amount of acid in your stomach, helping to relieve symptoms and heal damaged tissues.

Store rabeprazole tablets at room temperature, between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C). Keep the medicine in its original container, tightly closed, and out of reach of children.

The dosage of rabeprazole varies depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient.

It is typically taken once daily, before a meal.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not change the dosage without consulting them.

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablets.

Do not open delayed-release capsules.

Alcohol Consumption

It is generally safe to consume alcohol in moderation while taking rabeprazole. However, large amounts of alcohol can increase the risk of stomach irritation.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Rabeprazole may cause dizziness, headache, or weakness in some patients. If you experience these side effects, it is best to avoid driving or operating machinery until you feel better.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

It is not known if rabeprazole is safe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Discuss with your doctor the potential risks and benefits of taking rabeprazole while pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Rabeprazole is not approved for use in children under 1 year old. It should be used with caution in children and adolescents.



Kidney

Patients with kidney problems may need to adjust their dosage of rabeprazole. Talk to your doctor.
