Ezetimibe

This medication belongs to a class of drugs called cholesterol absorption inhibitors. it works by blocking the absorption of cholesterol from the small intestine.

Rosuvastatin

This medication belongs to a class of drugs called statins. it works by reducing the production of cholesterol in the liver.

High cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia): Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin is used to lower high cholesterol levels in adults with high cholesterol who have not been able to achieve their cholesterol goals with diet and exercise alone.

Prevention of cardiovascular disease: This medication may also be used to help prevent heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular problems in people at high risk.

Novastat Ez 10 Tab (Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin) works by combining two different mechanisms to lower cholesterol levels: Ezetimibe blocks the absorption of cholesterol from the small intestine, while rosuvastatin reduces the production of cholesterol in the liver. This combined action effectively reduces the overall cholesterol levels in the body.

Store Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin at room temperature, between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). Keep it in a dry place and away from direct sunlight.

The dosage of Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin is determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and response to treatment.

It is usually taken once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablets whole; do not crush, break, or chew them.

It is essential to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking it without consulting your healthcare provider, even if you feel better.

Serious side effects are rare but can include: muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis), liver damage, and allergic reactions.

Common side effects include: headache, muscle pain, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, and flatulence.

Alcohol Consumption

It is generally recommended to avoid alcohol consumption while taking Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin, as it may increase the risk of liver damage.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

This medication does not typically affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or drowsiness as a side effect, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery until these symptoms subside.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Ezetimibe + Rosuvastatin is not recommended for use during pregnancy. It is not known if this medication passes into breast milk, so it is recommended to avoid breastfeeding while taking this medication.



Children

This medication is not recommended for use in children.



Kidney

Your doctor may need to adjust your dose if you have kidney problems.



Liver

This medication should be used with caution in people with liver disease.
