Treatment of dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis) in adults and children over 2 years old.

Treatment of tinea versicolor (a fungal skin infection causing patches of discolored skin).

Nosket Shampoo (Ketoconazole + Zinc Pyrithione) are both antifungal agents that work by inhibiting the growth of fungus. Ketoconazole interferes with the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption disrupts the fungal cell membrane, leading to cell death. Zinc pyrithione has a broad-spectrum antifungal and antibacterial activity. Its exact mechanism of action is not fully understood, but it is believed to interfere with the growth and metabolism of microorganisms by interfering with the production of essential proteins and enzymes.

Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Apply a small amount of shampoo to wet hair and scalp. Gently massage into a lather and leave for 2-5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

Use the shampoo 2-3 times per week for the first 2 weeks, then reduce to 1-2 times per week or as directed by your doctor.

For tinea versicolor, apply the shampoo to affected areas of the skin for 2-5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Use the shampoo once or twice a week for 2-4 weeks.

It is important to follow the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist carefully when using this medication.

Alcohol Consumption

There is no known interaction between alcohol and ketoconazole + zinc pyrithione.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

This medication is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience any side effects, such as dizziness or drowsiness, avoid driving or operating machinery.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly necessary. It is not known whether ketoconazole + zinc pyrithione passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of using this medication while breastfeeding.



Children

This medication is not recommended for use in children under 2 years old.



Kidney
