Disopyramide

Phosphate is the active ingredient.

Treatment of certain types of abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias), specifically ventricular tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardias.

May be used for symptomatic control of other arrhythmias when other treatments have failed or are unsuitable.

Norpace 150mg Cap (Disopyramide) blocks sodium channels in the heart, slowing the conduction of electrical impulses and reducing the excitability of the heart muscle. It also has some effects on calcium channels and the autonomic nervous system.

Store at room temperature (20-25°C), away from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after its expiry date.

Dosage is determined by the physician and depends on the patient's condition and response to treatment.

It is usually administered orally, typically in divided doses.

The physician will adjust the dosage based on the patient's response and tolerance.

Dry mouth

Constipation

Urinary retention

Blurred vision

Drowsiness

Lightheadedness

Hypotension (low blood pressure)

Heart block (in rare cases)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of side effects, especially drowsiness and hypotension. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking disopyramide.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Disopyramide can cause drowsiness and blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Disopyramide should only be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding if the potential benefit outweighs the potential risks to the mother and child. Consult your physician before using this drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding.



Children

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.



Kidney

Disopyramide is primarily excreted by the kidneys. Patients with kidney impairment may require dosage adjustments. Close monitoring is necessary.



Liver

Liver function should be monitored, particularly in patients with pre-existing liver disease, as disopyramide metabolism can be affected.
