Treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris (chest pain)

May be used in combination with other angina medications

Nikoran Iv 2 Inj (Nicorandil) acts through two mechanisms: it opens potassium channels in the heart, leading to vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), and it activates potassium channels in vascular smooth muscle, causing relaxation and further vasodilation. This improves blood flow to the heart, reducing angina symptoms.

Store at room temperature, below 25°C, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage should be determined by a physician and adjusted based on individual needs and response.

It is typically administered orally.

The usual starting dose is low, and gradual increases may be made as tolerated by the patient.

Orthostatic hypotension (sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing)

Headache

Flushing (redness of the face)

Dizziness

Hypotension (low blood pressure)

Nausea

Abdominal pain

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of hypotension and dizziness. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption while taking nicorandil.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Nicorandil may cause dizziness or drowsiness, potentially impairing ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid such activities until you know how nicorandil affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Nicorandil is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the benefits outweigh the potential risks. Consult your physician.



Children

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.



Kidney

Patients with severe kidney impairment may require dose adjustment. Consult your physician.



Liver

Patients with severe liver impairment may require dose adjustment. Consult your physician.
