Nebivolol: A beta-blocker that helps relax blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.
Cilnidipine: A calcium channel blocker that also helps relax blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.
Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults.
May be used alone or in combination with other blood pressure medications.
Nebivolol and Cilnidipine work by relaxing the blood vessels. Nebivolol blocks the action of certain hormones (like adrenaline) that can cause the blood vessels to narrow. Cilnidipine blocks calcium from entering the cells of the blood vessels, which also causes them to relax. By relaxing the blood vessels, both medications lower blood pressure.
Store at room temperature, away from light and moisture.
Dosage is determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and response to treatment.
Typically taken once daily, preferably at the same time each day.
May be taken with or without food.
Common side effects include headache, dizziness, fatigue, and swelling in the ankles or feet.
Less common side effects include slow heart rate, low blood pressure, shortness of breath, and cough.
Serious side effects are rare, but can include allergic reactions, liver problems, and heart problems.
Alcohol can interact with this medication and increase the risk of side effects. Consult with your doctor regarding alcohol consumption.
This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Discuss with your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
