Mefenamic Acid

A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (nsaid) that reduces pain and inflammation.

Relief of mild to moderate pain, such as headache, muscle aches, menstrual cramps.

Reduction of fever.

Mefenamic acid inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing the production of prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain and inflammation. Paracetamol's mechanism is less fully understood but is believed to involve inhibition of cyclooxygenase in the central nervous system, reducing fever and pain.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

This medicine is typically taken orally.

While Driving or operating Machinery

Children

Dosage should be adjusted according to the child's age and weight. Consult a pediatrician.



Kidney

Use with caution in patients with kidney problems; may worsen kidney function.
