Amoxicillin is a penicillin-based antibiotic that works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell walls, leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid prevents the breakdown of amoxicillin by bacterial enzymes (beta-lactamases), ensuring the effectiveness of amoxicillin against bacteria that produce these enzymes.
Store at room temperature (15°C to 30°C) in a dry place. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
Dosage depends on the type and severity of infection and the patient's age and weight.
It is typically taken orally with or without food.
The usual dosage for adults is 500mg to 1000mg every 8 hours.
For children, the dosage is adjusted based on weight and age.
