Hydrochlorothiazide

Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic.It may be combined with other medications in a single pill.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)

Treatment of edema (fluid retention) associated with congestive heart failure, liver disease, or kidney disease

Myzide 12.5mg Tablet (Hydrochlorothiazide) increases the excretion of sodium and water by the kidneys, thereby lowering blood volume and blood pressure. It achieves this by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule of the nephron.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage varies depending on the individual's condition and response to treatment. Always follow your doctor's instructions.

It's typically taken once daily, often in the morning.

Dizziness

Lightheadedness

Headache

Dehydration

Muscle cramps

Electrolyte imbalances (low potassium, sodium, magnesium)

Increased blood sugar levels

Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of dehydration and low blood pressure. Limit alcohol intake while taking hydrochlorothiazide.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Hydrochlorothiazide can cause dizziness and lightheadedness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Consult your doctor before taking hydrochlorothiazide if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.



Children

Use in children is generally not recommended unless specifically directed by a pediatrician.



Kidney

Hydrochlorothiazide should be used with caution in patients with impaired kidney function.



Liver

Hydrochlorothiazide should be used with caution in patients with impaired liver function.
