Trihexyphenidyl

An anticholinergic medication used to treat parkinson's disease symptoms and extrapyramidal symptoms (eps) caused by antipsychotic medications.

Thioridazine

An antipsychotic medication belonging to the phenothiazine class, used to treat schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.

Trifluoperazine

Another antipsychotic medication, also a phenothiazine, used to treat schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. it is also used to treat tourette's syndrome.

This combination is NOT a standard or commonly prescribed formulation. It's highly unlikely to be found as a premixed drug. The individual components might be prescribed together in specific circumstances by a psychiatrist to manage complex symptoms. These circumstances might include treating schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders where EPS are a significant concern, requiring both antipsychotic and anticholinergic medication.

Trihexyphenidyl works by blocking the action of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that contributes to EPS. Thioridazine and trifluoperazine block dopamine receptors in the brain, reducing psychotic symptoms. The combined effect aims to manage psychotic symptoms while mitigating the extrapyramidal side effects (like tremors, rigidity) often associated with antipsychotic use.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication according to your pharmacist's instructions.

Crucially, this is NOT a standard formulation. Dosage will be determined solely by a physician based on individual patient needs and response. Dosage for each component will be prescribed separately.

Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, urinary retention, confusion, restlessness, anxiety, low blood pressure, photosensitivity, skin rash, weight gain, and increased risk of cardiovascular problems. This is not an exhaustive list, and the specific risks depend on the dosage of each component and patient characteristics.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol consumption as it can potentiate the sedative effects and increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you. Drowsiness is a common side effect.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Consult your doctor immediately about the risks and benefits of using this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding.



Children

Use in children should only be considered under strict medical supervision and is generally not recommended due to the complex drug interactions and side effects.



Kidney

Renal impairment may necessitate dosage adjustments. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function.



Liver

Hepatic impairment may necessitate dosage adjustments. Your doctor will monitor your liver function.
