Nph Human Insulin

A long-acting insulin that provides a steady, prolonged effect lasting up to 24 hours.

Regular Human Insulin

A short-acting insulin that starts working quickly and has a shorter duration of action, typically around 4-6 hours.

Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus: To control blood sugar levels in individuals with Type 1 diabetes.

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: May be used in conjunction with other diabetes medications to control blood sugar levels in individuals with Type 2 diabetes who require insulin therapy.

This drug combination works by mimicking the natural action of insulin produced by the pancreas. Both NPH and regular insulin bind to receptors on cells, facilitating the uptake of glucose from the bloodstream and reducing blood sugar levels.

Refrigeration

Store unopened vials in the refrigerator between 2-8°C (36-46°F).

Room Temperature

Once opened, vials can be stored at room temperature (below 30°C/86°F) for up to 28 days. Avoid direct sunlight and heat.

Disposal

Do not flush insulin down the toilet or throw it in the trash. Consult with your pharmacist for safe disposal guidelines.

Dosage is highly individualized and will be determined by your doctor based on your blood sugar levels, lifestyle, and other factors.

Insulin is typically injected subcutaneously (under the skin) using a syringe or insulin pen.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can impair the body's ability to regulate blood sugar, so it should be consumed in moderation or avoided entirely.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Hypoglycemia can impair concentration and reflexes, so caution is advised while driving or operating machinery.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Insulin use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be carefully monitored by a physician.



Children

Dosage and administration for children will be adjusted based on their age and weight.



Kidney & Liver

Individuals with kidney or liver disease may require dosage adjustments.
