Metronidazole

An antibiotic that fights bacteria. it is effective against certain types of bacteria that cause infections.

Diloxanide

Furoate an anti-amoebic drug that helps eliminate amoebas, especially entamoeba histolytica, a parasite that causes amoebic dysentery.

Treatment of amoebic dysentery (amoebiasis) caused by Entamoeba histolytica.

The dosage and duration of treatment will be prescribed by your doctor and will depend on your age, medical condition, and the severity of the infection.

Typically, adults take 1 tablet three times a day for 10 days.

Yeast infections.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment and for 2 days after completing the medication. Metronidazole can cause severe side effects when mixed with alcohol.



While Driving or operating Machinery

This medicine may cause dizziness, so avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Metronidazole can be harmful to the developing fetus and may pass into breast milk.



Children

This medicine is not usually prescribed for children. If your child requires treatment, your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage.



Kidney

People with kidney problems may need a lower dose or more frequent monitoring.



Liver

People with liver problems may need a lower dose or more frequent monitoring.
