Chlordiazepoxide

A benzodiazepine that works by enhancing the effects of a certain natural chemical in the brain (gaba) that has a calming effect.

Merital 5/25mg Tab (Amitriptyline + Chlordiazepoxide) work together to improve mood, reduce anxiety, and alleviate pain. Amitriptyline increases the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain, while chlordiazepoxide enhances the effects of GABA, a neurotransmitter that has calming effects.

Store at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Dosage varies depending on the individual's condition and response to treatment.

Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not take more or less of it than directed.

It's usually taken by mouth with or without food.

The medication may be taken once or twice a day, depending on your doctor's instructions.

While Driving or Operating Machinery

Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you. It can cause drowsiness and impair your ability to perform these activities safely.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication may harm an unborn baby. Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

This medication is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

This medication may be harmful to people with kidney disease.



Liver

This medication may be harmful to people with liver disease.
