Melleril 100mg Tablet (Thioridazine) works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain. Dopamine is involved in mood, emotions, and thought processes.

Store thioridazine at room temperature, away from light and moisture.

It is usually taken by mouth, once or twice a day.

Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) (a rare but serious condition that can be life-threatening)

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol while taking thioridazine as it can increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Thioridazine can cause drowsiness and dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Thioridazine can harm an unborn baby. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Thioridazine can also pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant.



Children

Thioridazine is not typically used to treat children.
