Treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris (chest pain)

May be used as an addon therapy when other treatments are insufficient.

Mayonil 5mg Tab (Nicorandil) acts through two mechanisms: It's a potassium channel opener, leading to vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) and it inhibits the production of certain inflammatory substances reducing vascular resistance and improving blood flow to the heart.

Store below 25°C. Protect from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiry date.

Dosage should be determined by a physician and adjusted based on individual needs.

Typically starts with a low dose and gradually increased as tolerated.

Usually administered orally, once or twice daily.

Orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing up)

Hypotension (low blood pressure)

Nausea

Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption should be avoided or minimized due to the risk of additive hypotensive effects.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Caution is advised, especially during initial use, as nicorandil may cause dizziness or drowsiness.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is generally not recommended unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Consult your doctor.



Children

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.



Kidney

Patients with impaired kidney function may require dose adjustment. Monitor closely.



Liver

Patients with impaired liver function may require dose adjustment. Monitor closely.
