Ramipril is the active ingredient in the medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.

Macpril 2.5mg Tab (Ramipril) works by blocking the action of an enzyme called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). ACE is involved in the production of a substance that narrows blood vessels. By blocking ACE, ramipril relaxes and widens blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure and reduces the workload on the heart.
Store ramipril at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
The dosage of ramipril will vary depending on your condition and how your body responds to the medication.
Your doctor will determine the best dose for you.
It is usually taken once a day, with or without food.
Do not stop taking ramipril without talking to your doctor.

Alcohol may increase the risk of side effects from ramipril.
Ramipril may cause dizziness or lightheadedness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Ramipril is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It can harm the developing baby.
The safety and effectiveness of ramipril in children have not been established.
Ramipril can affect kidney function. People with kidney problems may need to take a lower dose or have their kidney function monitored more closely.
