Cefpodoxime proxetil inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamases, enzymes produced by bacteria that can inactivate cefpodoxime, thus enhancing its effectiveness against bacteria that would otherwise be resistant.
Store at room temperature (below 25°C) in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

The medication is typically administered orally, with or without food.
