Isoniazid

An antibiotic that specifically targets mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria responsible for tuberculosis (tb).

Rifampicin

Treatment of active pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis (TB).

Prophylaxis (prevention) of TB in individuals with high risk of infection (e.g., close contact with a TB patient).

Isoniazid inhibits the synthesis of mycolic acids, essential components of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis cell wall. Rifampicin inhibits bacterial DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, preventing bacterial protein synthesis and ultimately leading to bacterial death. The combination of these two drugs provides synergistic bactericidal activity against M. tuberculosis.

Store at room temperature (20°C-25°C) in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.
