Cefoperazone Sodium

A cephalosporin antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Tazobactam

Sodium a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects cefoperazone from enzymatic degradation by certain bacteria.

Treatment of various bacterial infections, including intraabdominal infections, gynecological infections (e.g., pelvic inflammatory disease), skin and skin structure infections, and respiratory tract infections.

Treatment of infections caused by bacteria that produce betalactamases, which would otherwise render cefoperazone ineffective.

Cefoperazone inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Tazobactam prevents the inactivation of cefoperazone by bacterial beta-lactamases, thereby extending the antibiotic's effectiveness against a broader range of bacteria.

Store at controlled room temperature (20°C to 25°C; 68°F to 77°F). Protect from light and moisture. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.

Dosage and frequency are determined by the physician based on the severity of the infection and the patient's individual characteristics.

The medicine is typically administered intravenously or intramuscularly.
