Leflunomide

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA): To reduce symptoms and slow down joint damage.

Psoriasis: To reduce the severity of skin symptoms.

Active Chronic Hepatitis C: When combined with other medications, to improve liver function.

Lunamide 10mg Tab (Leflunomide) works by blocking the production of certain substances in the body that cause inflammation and joint damage. It slows down the immune system's attack on the body's own tissues.

Store Leflunomide at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children.

The dosage of Leflunomide will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and medical history.

It is typically taken by mouth once daily with or without food.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not change your dosage or stop taking the medication without consulting them.

Serious side effects can occur, including: liver problems, lung problems, blood disorders, and increased risk of infection.

Common side effects include: nausea, diarrhea, headache, hair loss, and fatigue.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid excessive alcohol consumption while taking Leflunomide, as it can increase the risk of liver damage.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Leflunomide may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Leflunomide is not recommended for pregnant women as it can harm the fetus. It is also not recommended for breastfeeding women as it can pass into breast milk. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor about alternative treatment options.



Children

Leflunomide is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Patients with kidney problems may need dosage adjustments.



Liver

Leflunomide can cause liver damage. Your doctor will monitor your liver function while you are taking this medication.
