Lovastatin

Lovastatin is the active ingredient in this medication.It is a type of medicine called a statin.

Lovastatin is used to lower cholesterol levels in the blood.

It is prescribed for people with high cholesterol who are at risk of heart disease.

Lotin 20mg Tablet (Lovastatin) works by blocking the production of cholesterol in the liver. This helps to reduce the amount of cholesterol in your blood, which lowers your risk of heart disease.

Store lovastatin at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

The usual dose of lovastatin is 10-40 mg once a day.

Your doctor will determine the right dose for you based on your individual needs.

Take lovastatin at the same time each day, with or without food.

Muscle pain, weakness, or tenderness.

Headache.

Indigestion.

Constipation.

Diarrhea.

Nausea.

Rash.

Itching.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid excessive alcohol consumption while taking lovastatin, as it can increase the risk of liver damage.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Lovastatin is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Lovastatin is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Discuss potential risks and alternatives with your doctor.



Children

Lovastatin is not usually prescribed for children.



Kidney

Lovastatin may need to be adjusted for people with kidney disease.



Liver
