Loteprednol etabonate is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids.Corticosteroids are man-made substances similar to a natural hormone produced by the adrenal glands.
Loteprednol etabonate is used to treat various inflammatory conditions of the eye, including:
Allergic conjunctivitis (inflammation of the conjunctiva due to allergens)
Vernal keratoconjunctivitis (a type of allergic conjunctivitis)
Post-operative inflammation after eye surgery
Inflammatory conditions like uveitis and iritis
Lotepred Eye Drops 5ml (Loteprednol Etabonate) works by reducing inflammation in the eye. It does this by suppressing the release of substances that cause inflammation.
Store the medication in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not freeze. Keep the medication out of reach of children and pets.
The dosage and frequency of application will vary depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient.
It is typically applied as eye drops or ointment a few times daily.

Blurred vision

There is no known interaction between loteprednol etabonate and alcohol.
Loteprednol etabonate may cause blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision clears.
Consult your doctor before using loteprednol etabonate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Use in children should be supervised by a doctor.
No specific precautions are required for people with kidney disease.
No specific precautions are required for people with liver disease.
