A beta-blocker that slows down the heart rate and lowers blood pressure.
A diuretic (water pill) that helps the body get rid of excess salt and water, lowering blood pressure.
This combination medication is prescribed to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It may be used alone or in combination with other medications.
0 Losartan: Blocks the action of a hormone called angiotensin II, which normally narrows blood vessels. By blocking this action, losartan relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.1 Atenolol: Works by blocking the effects of adrenaline (epinephrine) on the heart. This slows down the heart rate and reduces the force with which the heart contracts, lowering blood pressure.2 Hydrochlorothiazide: Increases the amount of urine the body produces, which helps remove excess fluid and sodium. This lowers blood pressure.
Store this medication at room temperature, away from light and moisture.
Keep this medication out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not flush unused medication down the toilet or pour it into the drain unless instructed to do so.
Dispose of this medication properly when it is expired or no longer needed.
Dosage and frequency of administration will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs. This medication is typically taken once daily, with or without food.
Serious side effects can occur. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following: chest pain, irregular heartbeat, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing, skin rash, or fever.
Common side effects include dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, headache, cough, and muscle cramps.
Alcohol can increase the risk of side effects from this medication. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption.
This medication can cause dizziness or lightheadedness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
This medication can be harmful to a developing fetus. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of using this medication if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. This medication is not recommended for use in children.
