Sitagliptin

Sitagliptin is the active ingredient in the medication.It belongs to a class of drugs known as dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus: Sitagliptin is used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.

It is typically used in combination with diet and exercise.

Lorisita 50 Tablet (Sitagliptin) works by increasing the levels of incretin hormones, such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), in the body. These hormones help lower blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin release from the pancreas and slowing down the release of glucose from the liver.

Store sitagliptin at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

The dosage of sitagliptin will vary depending on your individual needs and medical condition.

It is usually taken once daily, with or without food.

Common side effects include: headache, upper respiratory tract infection, nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the nose and throat), and diarrhea.

Serious side effects are rare but may include: pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), allergic reactions, and joint pain.
