Minoxidil is the active ingredient in many topical hair loss treatments and some oral formulations for hypertension.Specific formulations may contain additional inactive ingredients like propylene glycol, alcohol, or water (depending on whether it's a topical solution or an oral tablet).
Treatment of androgenetic alopecia (male and female pattern baldness) topical formulations only.
Treatment of severe hypertension (high blood pressure) oral formulations only. This is typically used when other treatments have been ineffective.
For hair loss: Lonitab 10mg Tab (Minoxidil)'s exact mechanism isn't fully understood, but it's believed to prolong the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle and increase blood flow to the hair follicles. For hypertension: Minoxidil acts as a vasodilator, relaxing blood vessels and reducing peripheral vascular resistance, thus lowering blood pressure.
Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard topical solutions after the expiration date printed on the label. For oral medications, follow the specific storage instructions provided.
