Lestric 10mg Tablet (Lovastatin) is a statin drug. It works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme in the liver that is crucial for cholesterol production. By blocking this enzyme, lovastatin reduces the liver's production of cholesterol, leading to lower LDL ('bad') cholesterol levels in the blood.

Store lovastatin at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the label.

Dosage is determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and response to treatment.

It's typically taken orally, once daily, often in the evening.

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Lovastatin is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The potential risks to the developing fetus or infant outweigh the benefits.



Children

Use in children is generally not recommended unless specifically prescribed by a physician.



Kidney

Usually safe for those with normal kidney function; those with impaired kidney function may require dose adjustments.



Liver

Regular monitoring of liver function is often recommended, especially in the initial stages of treatment, as lovastatin can affect liver function.
