Larap 2mg Tab (Pimozide) is a dopamine receptor antagonist. It works by blocking the action of dopamine in the brain, which helps to reduce the symptoms of Tourette's syndrome and schizophrenia.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Dosage is determined by your doctor based on your condition and response to treatment.

It's usually taken orally, once or twice daily.

Never change your dose or stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor.

Extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) such as muscle stiffness, tremors, restlessness, and tardive dyskinesia (a serious late-onset movement disorder)

Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) – a rare but potentially life-threatening condition

Orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure upon standing)

Drowsiness

Dizziness

Dry mouth

Constipation

Weight gain

Changes in blood counts

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol consumption as it can worsen side effects, especially drowsiness and dizziness.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you. Drowsiness and dizziness are common side effects.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Pimozide may pose risks to the developing fetus or nursing infant.



Children

Use in children should be under strict medical supervision due to potential risks of EPS and other side effects.



Kidney

Dosage adjustment may be necessary for patients with impaired kidney function.



Liver

Dosage adjustment may be necessary for patients with impaired liver function.
