Lamistar 30mg 30s Tab (Lamivudine + Stavudine) are nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). They work by interfering with the activity of the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase enzyme, which is essential for the virus to replicate. By blocking this enzyme, lamivudine and stavudine prevent the virus from making copies of itself, thus slowing the progression of the infection.

Store the medication at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of lamivudine and stavudine varies depending on the patient's age, weight, and overall health status.

It is typically taken by mouth with or without food.

The medication should be taken at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in the body.

Do not skip doses or stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption can increase the risk of side effects, including liver damage. It is important to limit or avoid alcohol while taking lamivudine and stavudine.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Lamivudine and stavudine can cause dizziness or fatigue. If you experience these side effects, avoid driving or operating machinery.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Lamivudine and stavudine can harm an unborn baby. It is not recommended for pregnant women. If you are breastfeeding, talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking this medication.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of lamivudine and stavudine have not been established in children younger than 3 months old.



Kidney

Lamivudine and stavudine are eliminated by the kidneys. If you have kidney problems, you may need a lower dose or more frequent monitoring.



Liver

Lamivudine and stavudine can cause liver problems. If you have liver problems, you may need a lower dose or more frequent monitoring.
