Maintenance therapy for bipolar disorder (to reduce the frequency and severity of mood episodes).
Lametec 25mg Tab (Lamotrigine) is thought to work by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels in nerve cells, reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters like glutamate, thus stabilizing neuronal excitability and preventing seizure activity or mood swings.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
Dosage is determined by your physician and depends on your age, weight, condition, and response to the medication.
Start with a low dose and gradually increase it as directed.
Take as prescribed, usually once or twice daily, with or without food.
Do not stop taking lamotrigine abruptly without consulting your doctor.

Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase the risk of side effects.
Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how lamotrigine affects you.
Consult your doctor before using lamotrigine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. It can cross the placenta and is present in breast milk.
Dosage and monitoring are crucial in children; your physician will adjust accordingly.
Patients with kidney impairment may require dose adjustment.
Patients with liver impairment may require dose adjustment.
